• Golf:

  Home to two 18-hole golf courses—Tom Fazio’s Cotton Dike course and Arthur Hills’ Morgan River course ensure a challenge for golfers of all abilities. The Dataw Island golf professionals are highly qualified and take pride in their work. Offerings include group and private lessons and clinics. A wide variety of tournaments are held throughout the year and are suited to include everyone from the novice to the expert golfer.

• Tennis:

  Eight Har-Tru courts, four of which are lighted for nighttime play, and a new 1,600-square-foot tennis center appointed with showers, a galley kitchen, meeting space and an austere pro shop. The active tennis program, with competitive leagues through the USTA, lessons, mixers, pro exhibitions, clinics and more, is led by on-staff professionals.

• Fitness Center:

  The Community & Fitness Center is designed to accommodate your individual needs. Personal trainers craft a comprehensive, made-for-you program. An aerobic exercise studio with a specialty floor cushions even high-impact activity, making workouts easier on the joints. The center’s inclusive weight room offers circuit-training machines, free weights and state-of-the-art cardio equipment. And you can reward each workout by sinking into our whirlpool spa.

• Croquet:

  Dataw Island’s most charming gathering place is a pair of championship croquet lawns, where games are defined by tournament play and a competitive spirit. Membership to the Croquet Club of Dataw Island is open to the Golf and Island Social members of the Dataw Island Club. As an affiliate of the Coastal Croquet Clubs (CCC), all players will enjoy the manicured courts and equipment. From beginners clinics and regular interclub matches to tournaments, the greenswards were designed for every handicap and skill level.

• Swimming Pools:

  Mild Low Country temperatures invite residents to take a dip year-round. Relaxation beckons in the form of the South Carolina sun as you enjoy the outdoor pool with its tranquil views of the marshes and Jenkins Creek.
  
  For families, the children’s pool and adjacent snack bar make any poolside outing effortless. And with a covered and heated pool, located at the Community Center, water aerobics and physical therapy exercise, Dataw’s aquatic facilities redefine poolside.

• Clubhouse:

  The Clubhouse at Dataw Island is 40,000 square feet of Southern grace. Storied spiral staircases lead to grand windows that open to maritime vistas. Food preparation and presentation are forms of art here. And whether you’re enjoying casual pub fare or the local seafood, the culinary masters create gourmet delights prepared so that the flavors linger as long as the conversations.
  
  The Grill Room offers a sophisticated menu with an unmistakable Low Country flavor. Our forest green and wood-accented pub is the perfect retreat after a round on the links, offering draught beer and lighter fare from a menu designed to satisfy all appetites. Our nationally trained executive chef and sous chef strive to make every dining experience a memorable event.
  
  The Tabby Room, featuring a verandah, private bar and fireplace, is designed for more intimate gatherings or small meetings.
  
  The Carolina Ballroom features a large foyer with private bar and grand piano, wrap-around verandah and state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and can accommodate larger groups. Dataw’s culinary staff are nationally trained and offer excellent cuisine with a Low Country flair.

• Marina:

  The full-service marina keeps you close to the sea. The privately owned deepwater slips and dry storage are just three miles from the Intracoastal Waterway. So you’re only 30 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and the Southeast’s finest fishing and sailing.
  
  From concrete floating docks with break-water protection, free cable on transient docks, a full-service repair yard, diesel discount fuel pump-out availability, air-conditioned showers and laundry, marine surveyor and an on-call diver, the marina staff takes care of everything you need for an uninhibited excursion on the water.
