At Hampton Lake, it's all about the water. Located in Bluffton, South Carolina, Hampton Lake is the Hilton Head area's first private lake community. The jewel of the community is the 165-acre freshwater lake that includes 7 miles of navigable waterways and 15 miles of shoreline. With approximately 345 surrounding acres of nature preserve, which together with the lake, create over 500 acres of open space and nature-friendly environment. Most lakefront homes and homesites will accommodate boat slips, for easy back-yard access to fishing, kayaking, and deck-boat cruising with friends. Smaller boats are required to have smaller horsepower engines (10-15 hp for boats 17-19 feet). All gas engines must be 4 cycle. Community offers canoe and kayak storage and lakeside boat ramp.

Docs Boathouse includes boats for member use, an interpretive nature center (Mother Natures) and a convenience store that supplies bait, tackle, clothing and merchandise (Tackle Box).

The Outpost includes covered sites for 4-8 person tents, picnic pavilion, fire rings, bathhouses, fishing rod stands, clothes drying racks, canoe and kayak storage and launch.
