Spring Island Info
Spring Island, a 3000-acre maritime island in the heart of the Low Country, is located near the historic town of Beaufort, South Carolina. Insulated against the potential growth around us, it is surrounded by pristine rivers and tidal creeks and 3500 acres of marsh.
The cornerstone of the development philosophy has always been preservation. Hence the island is deed restricted to 400 homes.
In addition to island paradise natural beauty, Spring Island offers its members an incredible diversity of activities - athletic, intellectual and cultural. They are a diverse group geographically, in age and interests who appreciate the unpretentious, understated lifestyle.
The Spring Island trust, created in 1990, serves as the island's environmental watchdog and has three full time naturalists and staff housed in the Mobley Nature Center.
