Southport, NC – The Brunswick County coastal community of Seawatch at Sunset Harbor has been chosen as the site for the 2009 Coastal Living Idea House. An official Coastal Living announcement was made on October 17th. Each year, Coastal Living hand selects communities for the Idea House that represent environmental consciousness and sensitivity to shoreline preservation, as well as coastal home innovation, décor, and construction. Representatives of Dataw Island Club today announced that their Cotton Dike and Morgan River golf courses have achieved designation as a “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, an Audubon International program. On October 11th, McLendon Hills residents, property owners and special guests celebrated their 10-year anniversary with an all-day Fall Celebration. Activities included something special for everyone: a scarecrow contest, boat tours, equine exhibition, dog-training session, open house, quilt display, charity raffle ticket sales, food concessions, pony rides, pumpkin painting, private barn tours, pig pickin’ dinner with a bluegrass band, line dancing, and a bonfire with s’mores and ghost stories.
